We must never forget 9/11/01. The country's greatness was, is and will be tested. Our people and government will respond and make the choices that will combat the evil that was done and that might be done in the future. We can not do it alone, and we cannot do it only by military action. We pray for those lost and their loved ones, our leaders, and all who will carry on. We say farewell to our sense of inviolability but welcome the new sense of mission and solidarity. We will overcome the urge for vengance and obtain justice. We will overcome vengance and seek out peoples of spaceship earth to help us in our search for peace and hope.
We are all veterans now and have seen the horror of war. We felt powerless initially and wanted to rewind the video. After the initial shock, rescuers performed their tasks willingly and in many cases heroically. Prayers have been and will be said for the missing and dead from New York, Washington and all over the world. All of us are dealing with the trauma in our own way. We have gone back to our jobs, are doing our daily tasks, and searching for ways to help ease the suffering and deal with the fear. It is time to combine vigilance with just punishment for the evildoers and all of their supporters. We also must reach out with compassion and understanding to peoples that are less fortunate or who are involved in conflicts that breed hatred.
God bless us all.
